Dear Friends;
On Saturday, April 22 members of the Polish community gathered in the evening at the Parish Hall of St. Hyacinth’s Church to bear witness to the memories of those who survived the Siberian deportations in the 1940s. The most moving statements were that they never lost faith, never complained, and continued to organize and participate in Polish national holidays.


In particular, they said that once they were liberated and found themselves in the Middle East or Africa, these national holidays - May 3 and Nov. 11 - played a significant role in their lives.

W sobotę 22 kwietnia członkowie polskiej społeczności zebrali się wieczorem w sali parafialnej kościoła św. Jacka, aby dać świadectwo pamięci tych, którzy przeżyli syberyjskie deportacje w latach czterdziestych. Najbardziej poruszające było to, że nigdy nie stracili wiary, nigdy nie narzekali. Organizowali i uczestniczyli w polskich świętach narodowych.

W szczególności powiedzieli, że kiedy zostali wyzwoleni i znaleźli się albo na Bliskim Wschodzie albo w Afryce, te święta narodowe - 3 maja i 11 listopada - odgrywały znaczącą rolę w ich życiu.
